Create A Phase Gate Project

A Phase Gate project is always created based on a project template.

Before you can create a project, you must first create a project template, assign a "Phase Gate Review Process" to this template, and then link it to a specific project type. Please note that you can assign only one template to each project type. However, you can define as many project types as needed.

The procedure is the same whether you use the Project Wizard or create a project without the wizard.

Once these prerequisites are completed, you can create a new project.

It is important that, during project creation, you select the correct project template and choose the corresponding project type in the categorization settings.

Then complete the remaining project details and save the project.

When you reopen the project, the section "Phase-Tollgate" should appear below the "Progress" section (see screenshot) and reference the assigned project template.

After the assignment has been completed, the project will also appear in the Gates Dashboard. Make sure that you select the correct project type.

The dashboard displays the different gates and their current status. By clicking on the icon, you can open the gate documents directly.

Please note that an agent in the portfolio database must run before the dashboard is updated. This agent typically runs once per hour.
