Project Types

This article will help you learn the Project types that the system allows you to create and manage. You can create and manage two types of projects in the Project App: Waterfall (standard) and Agile (Kanban).  You can define the project type when creating a new project. The project type is defined at the time of creation and cannot be edited later. To manage a Waterfall type project, you will only use the Gantt App. To manage an Agile type project, you will only use the Kanban App.  

How to set the Project type when you are creating a new project

  • Select the New Project button on the All projects page;

 

 

  • On the Create a New Project page, select between the project types: Waterfall (standard) or Agile (Kanban);

 

 

  • Enter a Project Name; 
  • Define a Start date;
  • Define an End date;
  • Click on the Create a New Project button to create your project.

How to manage the tasks and deliverables of a Waterfall project in the Gantt App

  • Select the Gantt icon on the upper right corner of the Project page;

 

 

You can add human, material, and generic resources to a Waterfall project. Human resources can be assigned any of the following roles:

  • Project Manager;
  • Team Member;
  • Contributor.

How to manage the tasks and deliverables of an Agile project in the Kanban App

  • Select the Kanban icon  on the upper right corner of the Project page;

 

 

You can only add Human resources to an Agile project. Human resources can be assigned any of the following roles:

  • Project Manager
  • Team Member
