Update Rates in Projects (v8.xx)

Update Rates in Projects (v8.xx)

It's possible to have different Rates defined in a single Project. After taking over Rates from default Rate Management, the Project Manager can modify the imported Rates.

  • The function "Import Rates" and "Update Rates" will only affect one single project. The functions "Update Future" and "Update All" will effect a selection of projects.

Hint: Later changes/updates in default Rate Management will not affect this project Rates.

  1. Default Rates

In projects without modified Rates actuals costs will generated by the following way.

  1. The "Resource D" report time (System creates Timedetail).

  2. Timedetail gets the Rate from the Assignment, which got it from the Resource Document.

  3. To select the right cost, the Timedetail get the Activity Type from the Task.

  4. Costs were calculated from reported time multiplied by the correct Rate.

  1. Import Rates

If a Project should have different Rates, or persistent Rates unlinked to the global Rates, the Project Manager can create a Project Rate document.

Open Project Description Click on Action

Select "Import the rates"

A copy will be created for the All-All-Rate in the Project.

Up from now the Assignment get the Rate from the Resource document, the Project Rate document will be used for all Resources.

Hint: You need to configure the Navigation to get this views.

Hint: The diagram shows the single action in two paths, it will done by one.

  1. Update Rates

If a Project should have different Rates to single Participants, the Project Manager can create Rate documents for all participants.

Select "Import the rates"

A copy will be created for each Participant

Thereafter the Project Manager can modify the Rates to each Resource in his Project separately. Future costs will be calculated by each Resource Rate document in this Project.
