Resource Availability and Workload (v10.xx)
Many companies face the challenge of meeting project requirements without overstaffing or under- utilizing resources. A resource planning and management tool is essential to balance between work demand and resource capacity in any project management strategy.
Cerri Project offers a centralized resource pool management tool that provides a real-time view of resource usage across all projects and multiple [Projects] modules, if applicable. It includes simple graphical views of resource workload and availability, and includes advanced search capabilities to find resources based on profile definition and availability.
The [Resources] module computes resource availability based on their defined working hours, unavailability (such as holidays or training), public holidays, and existing project assignments. Refer to Availability calculation for more information.
There are four main ways to check resource availability and workload:
- Visual representation of workload: Views from the [Resources] tab provide an overview of each resource's availability by day, by week, month, type, or skill, displaying workload, free time, and possible conflicts.
- Resource-specific workload overview: Each resource has an "Availability" document that displays a daily breakdown of their workload. It provides access to assignment information and includes personal and business details, as well as the resource’s skill set.
- Search for available resources based on specific requirements: Resources can be filtered and found based on their company, type, skills, location, department, availability, and more.
- Cerri Planner Workload chart: A Gantt-style view of a resource’s workload including assigned tasks, unavailability, and percentage availability (known as "Global Unavailabilities") within Cerri Planner.
