Project Tracking in Cerri Project (v10.xx)

Depending on a user’s role on a project or within an organization, project progress can be tracked from various perspectives, including:

  1. Financial follow-up:
    1. A project leader might need to check the financial status of a project at any given time. This is covered in the "Budget & Cost Tracking" chapter.
    2. Planned costs can be compared to actual and/or billable costs.
  2. Workload follow-up
    1. A project leader needs to track the actual work done on their project at any given time.
    2. The planned workload can be compared to the actual work completed on tasks/ assignments.
  3. Deadline follow-up
    1. The progress of a project can be measured by the completion of deliverables (milestones).
    2. Project deliverables' statuses are useful for determining whether deadlines are being met and if the project is on schedule.
  4. Activity follow-up
    1. Project leaders review and approve time spent on tasks belonging to their projects.
    2. Team leads review and approve a resource's entire timesheet.
  5. Risk follow-up
    1. Project leaders evaluate potential risks to their projects and track the progress of actions undertaken to mitigate those risks.
  6. General follow-up
    1. Project leaders proactively write monthly progress reports for their projects.

This chapter provides examples of reports and methods to track projects. Additional project tracking capabilities are available at the portfolio level.

Navigate to the [Project] tab and click on [Progress status] in the contextual navigation menu to access project tracking views.

Use the [Progress status] --> [Overview by month] view to review monthly progress overviews and see high-level indicators about each project’s status.

You will see the current status for the Budget, Problems, Risks, Issues, Delayed tasks and Deliverables. These indicators are computed monthly, and the system stores the history at the end of each month to provide an easy visual understanding of project trends over time. The current month displays the current status. A background agent updates the indicators daily.

The "Project overviews" report tracks project health using traffic light indicators for quick visualization of monthly progress at the labor and financial levels. The green traffic light indicates that everything is on track; orange indicates 'attention' may be needed and red indicates problem areas that require immediate action.

By clicking the [Update] menu, you can select the project and month to update or create the monthly indicators, referred to as the "Project overview".
