Managing Multiple Types of Deliverables (v10.xx)
Cerri Project allows users to convert deliverables into various document types including generic documents, cost documents, or billing milestones, enabling flexible modeling for different project deliverables. For example, a "market study" deliverable in one phase and a "pre-engineering study" deliverable in another may not have the same format and follow different revision and approval cycles. In the Stage Gate context, Cerri Project deliverable "Gates" (Gate review), will have a specific format (scorecard) and workflow.
In the Gantt (Cerri Planner), deliverables are initially created as standard deliverable types, but other deliverable types can be defined if created manually outside of the Gantt. (See "Creating a deliverable.")
It is also possible to transform any standard deliverable into another supported type. This operation is called "Converting a deliverable"
To convert a deliverable:
- Open the deliverable in edit mode.
- Click "Actions" on the menu action bar and select "Convert into".
A dialog box will open.
- Select the desired target document type.
- If the document type is "Cost," select a cost type (no template selection required). If the document type is not a cost, select a template (no cost type selection required).
Click "Create" to validate.
The deliverable will automatically convert to the selected document type. However, the original delivery dates and validations from the standard deliverable are automatically retained.
Deleting a deliverable
There are three possible ways to delete a deliverable:
- From the Cerri Planner if it exists in the Gantt.
- Directly from the deliverable. Click "Delete" on the menu action bar.
- From a view. Select the deliverable(s) to be deleted and click "Delete" on the view's menu action bar.
