The KPI Tracking document is a special type of the Generic document with a specific subform. A KPI Tracking document is generated to track performance and make sure that you stay on track to hit your KPI Target detail (KPI target at project-level). There are different ways of doing this and 3 options are available from the General setup of the 'Portfolio' database. The 'Metric capture mode' field lets you define this as follow:
KPI tracking document can be included in a Deliverable document. This means that the option 'On deliverables' is checked.
KPI tracking document can be automatically generated in the Project progress report document. This means that the option 'By month' is checked.
KPI tracking document can be generated by creating an 'Other document' of type 'KPI Tracking'. This means that the option 'Free' is checked.
Saving a 'KPI Tracking' document (either mode) generates the KPI Tracking Detail documents. A 'KPI Tracking Detail' document is then generated for each KPI Target detail document in the project.
