Cerri Planner, Gantt Chart Overview (v10.xx)

Cerri Project offers a suite of robust project management tools tailored to both quick, simple projects without complex charts and features, as well as detailed projects and plans using the Cerri Planner Gantt Chart tool. This section focuses on projects planned with the Gantt Chart tool.

A Gantt Chart is an effective tool for visually communicating a project plan. It graphically represents task progression within a specified timeframe, including milestones (deliverables). It is used for defining tasks, their duration, dependencies, and to facilitate communication among responsible parties.

The Gantt Chart in Cerri Project supports building a plan by following a theoretical process:

  1. Identifying project deliverables.
  2. Determining the tasks needed to complete the deliverables.
  3. Managing links between tasks and deliverables (dependencies).
  4. Handling project delays.
  5. Managing resource assignments.

In Cerri Project, the plan is used for creating deliverables, tasks, and managing costs and delays. It enables comparison between actuals performance and forecasts, helping users identify slippages and react accordingly. Actual start dates, and other real-time data are recorded in task, deliverable or timesheet forms accessible to project participants. Updates reported by project members are reflected in the project plan.

Every time a new project is created, a corresponding plan is automatically generated. To open your project’s Gantt Chart:

  1. Navigate to the [Projects] tab on the module bar.
  2. Open "Tasks & plans" -> "Plans-Gantt" view.
