Highlighting rows and cells based on rules
In all views, it is possible to highlight cells and entire rows based on rules. To do this, select the ‘Conditional formatting’ option from the View icon menu.
A dialogue box will appear where you can define the rules.
- In the ‘Column’ drop-down field, select which values (columns) you want to use for a rule.
- Use ‘Condition’ to select the logic to be applied, e.g. greater than, or less than, etc. The logical conditions that can be selected depend on the type of field, i.e. whether it is a string, a date,or a number.
- In the ‘Value’ field, specify the value to be compared.
- In ‘Background color’, select the color to be used.
You can choose from a color palette, and you can further adjust the selected color afterwards using the color box.
- In ‘Text color’, specify the color for the text.
- With ‘Apply to the whole row’, specify whether the background color should be applied to the entire row or only to the cell.
You can add this rule and create one or more additional rules using the "Add Color Rule" button.
Press ‘Apply’ to apply the rules in the current view.
If you want to change or remove rules, open the dialogue box again by clicking on the ‘Conditional formatting’ icon. Then either click on the pencil icon for the rule you want to edit or on the delete symbol.
After changing a rule, you must save it again by clicking on ‘Update’ and then "Apply".
The modified rules will be applied.
All settings related to the view - such as filter and formatting rules (conditional formatting) - are saved in personal or global versions when you use "Save" and assign a name.
This allows you to create meaningful reports tailored to your personal needs.
