Monitoring the databases periodically
The application manager should periodically monitor the databases to check for the following:
- Identified problems
- Unexpected errors
Identified problems:
During normal database operations, issues may arise when agents are processing documents in the Projects and Timesheets databases.
Examples include:
- A task has been deleted after a user has already input time towards it in a timesheet.
- A resource selects an assigned task in their timesheet but is subsequently removed from the task. The problem arises when the user continues to input time towards the task in their timesheet.
In these circumstances, the documents are marked as problematic and displayed in a specific view, allowing for the detection and reprocessing of the documents. Usually the documents must be corrected manually before being reprocessed.
Note: The probability of these problems occuring increases when users are working on different replicas of the databases.
Unexpected errors:
In all databases, errors can occur while agents are running or when users perform an action. In most cases, a corresponding System event document will be generated and can be forwarded to Cerri's technical support for further assistance.
System events
Administration log are created automatically. They are computed records and cannot be manually edited or modified.
- These logs are generated when a problem occurs during an agent run or operation.
- They are displayed once the agent operation is over.
- If the issue results from a user action, the system event is also sent to the user.
Problems in progress
The application manager must regularly check this tab for new problems. There are currently no automatic notifications sent to the application manager when new documents appear in this view.
For more information, refer to the chapter "Maintain Notes Databases" -> "Problems in progress"
Abandoned problems
This section lists all problems that have been abandoned.
Note: It is possible to reprocess abandoned problems in the same way as problems in progress.
