How to add & remove file categories

Learn how to add and remove file categories for your projects in Central App.

Permission Based Feature

In order to create file categories you have to be the Project Owner. Learn how to create default file categories as an Admin user here.

File Categories

Files attached to project tasks are automatically stored in a default category called Files. Cerri offers you the option to organize additional files using your own file categories inside a project. Categorize your files according to their content, ie. contracts, images, invoices, etc.

Add File Category From Left-Hand Menu

  • Go into Central App
  • Select Project in left-hand menu
  • Click New
  • Select File Category 
  • Name the File Category
  • Press Enter

Add File Category From Dashboard

  • Go into Central App
  • Select Project in left-hand menu
  • Next to Files click + Add file category
  • Click +Add File Category 
  • Name the File Category
  • Press Enter

Remove File Category from the Left-Hand Menu

Note: All files in the file category will be deleted. Files can be restored from trash and will appear in the default Files category.

  • Select Project in left-hand menu
  • Click on the Arrow next to the Project Name to expand the menu
  • Select the File Category
  • Right click
  • Select Delete
  • Confirm by choosing Yes, delete

Remove File Category from the Dashboard

Note: All files in the file category will be deleted. Files can be restored from trash and will appear in the default Files category.

  • Select Project in left-hand menu
  • Select the File Category the Dashboard
  • Right click
  • Select Delete
  • Confirm by choosing Delete
